Special services: Interpreting for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community
One of the special services Andrea offers is free interpreting service for Trillium clients in the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community in the greater Ann Arbor area.
Andrea, a certified interpreter and transliterator, has worked with the Deaf community for more than 25 years. She has been an ASL interpreter and nationally certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf for 15 years.
As she herself puts it, “I love houses and I love interpreting. Putting both of my loves together for the benefit of the Deaf community is a natural idea that’s good for everyone.”
“We believe the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community has been underserved in the area of house or condo purchasing and selling—and we’d like to be of better service,” says Linda Lombardini, owner of Trillium with partner, Sandi Smith.
“I have helped Deaf clients in the past and have always felt inadequate,” Linda says. “With Andrea’s experience, our service and ability to assist will be strengthened.”
There is no additional cost for the interpreting services for clients interested in buying, selling or renting a home through Trillium Real Estate. Also free is Deranian’s help with lenders, inspectors, title insurance providers and the like.
