At long last, Pride Month is upon us! Washtenaw County is a vibrant hub for LGBTQ+ culture, offering a diverse array of events that celebrate community, creativity, and inclusivity. Here's a curated roundup of upcoming LGBTQIA+ events in the area:
Celebrate Pride at Zingerman's Bakehouse
Kick off Pride Month with limited-time cupcakes from the legendary Zingerman's Bakehouse! Grab a decadent chocolate cupcake with a rainbow vanilla buttercream swirl and white fondant heart on top for $3.99 each. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jim Toy Community Center.

Ypsi Pride 2025: Our Stories
Ypsi Pride is an annual event celebrating LGBTQ+ visibility and inclusion. This year's theme, "Our Stories," is best described by the event organizers:
"Ypsi Pride proudly presents the theme, 'Our Stories,' to celebrate the diverse and powerful narratives that make up the fabric of our community. 5th Annual Zion Well: Yoga For Pride
Join Zion Well founders, Art + Aubrey, for a beginner-friendly yoga class at Riverside Park in celebration of Pride and the LGBTQIA+ community! Proceeds from ticket sales will support Michigan ACLU and Stand with Trans. The Michigan ACLU fights for civil rights and protections for LGBTQIA+ individuals, ensuring legal equity and the right to exist authentically. Their work supports marginalized communities facing discrimination. Stand with Trans provides essential resources for transgender youth and their families, offering mentorship, support groups, and educational programs. Both organizations align with Zion Well's belief that yoga and wellness spaces should be safe, affirming, and inclusive for all, as belonging and self-acceptance are critical for well-being. Pride Cabaret Benefit for Jim Toy Center
You won't want to miss this one-off cabaret show put together by tenors Jay Kaplan & Jeffrey Willets! Attendees will get the chance to hear the incomparable vocals of guest Miss Erica Ashe, accompanist Nick Frederick, and percussionist Jesse Gibbs as they serenade you through the Barbra Streisand Song Book. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Jim Toy Community Center. Cost: $20

London Beck and Zoey Grekin are two exceptionally talented, multi-instrumentalist artists eager to share their melodic mastery at The Ark. Grab a ticket to experience a dynamic musical performance you won't soon forget! The Ark describes the Voices series as follows: Voices is a series of artist-cultivated concerts at The Ark conceived and created by Ann Arbor musician Kyler Wilkins, AKA vocal looping artist Ki5. The series seeks to expand the representation of Michigan BIPOC artists and audiences at The Ark. Each show, intentional time will be taken to get to know each artist in the form of brief interviews and musical breaks to have them speak about their journey as musicians and performers with the hope that people in the audience are more connected to and inspired by those voices.
