If you missed the big E-Waste Day, you have 3 more chances to get rid of your stuff safely: June 11, Oct. 1 and Oct. 15. These events are free, but organizers suggest a $10 donation per car to help lower the disposal costs and keep this community collection going every year.

One important caveat: These collection days are just for Washtenaw County residents—not for businesses.

Here's what you can bring:

  • Traditional recyclable materials: plastics, glass, aluminum, cardboard, paper
  • Scrap metal
  • Appliances: washers, dryers, air conditioners, refrigerators, etc.
  • Household hazardous materials: cleaning supplies, motor oil, pesticides, mercury, paint, etc.
  • Tires:  Residents can bring up to 4 tires for free; a $5 donation is suggested for each additional tire.
  • Electronic equipment: computers, televisions, toasters, etc. Residents can also bring one television, appliance or computer, but a $10 donation is suggested for each additional item.
  • Sharps: diabetic needles, etc.
